Over the past two decades, both the GPU vendors and game developers have been striving for a holy grail of "better frame rate". However, the issue of smoothness is very poorly understood. In this session, Alen will look at a very peculiar and not well known, yet quite important, cause of the dreaded "micro-stuttering", which often occurs even in single-GPU situations. Underlying issues, history of the problem, as well as prototype methods to address it will be discussed.
