GDC Audio Bootcamp goes to 0x11 (that's 17 in hexadecimal) with a 17th year focused on the technical, creative and logistical topics needed to successfully navigate the field of sound for games. A range of industry experts will speak on their own experiences and practical skills relating to music composition, sound design, implementation, audio mixing, the logistics of working in both large and small studio settings, career development, and more. The lunchtime surgeries offer a unique opportunity to sit and meet with many of the speakers in a small-scale setting to talk about the specific interactive audio topics that are at top of attendees' minds.

Takeaway

Audio Bootcamp provides practical information from speakers with a diverse set of perspectives and experiences on both the breadth and depth of making sound in games. It lays the groundwork for many of the topics covered during the main conference audio track sessions, while offering enough breadth and depth to teach new tricks even to those who are experienced veterans.

Intended Audience

Designed for both those with substantial existing experience creating games and those working on their first projects; the primarily technical, the primarily creative, and every shade in between; specialists, generalists, and those who come from non-audio game development disciplines; composers, sound designers, audio implementers, game designers, pipeline and tools engineers, producers, and all who care about the sounds that come out of today's game experiences.
