This lecture explores various aspects and constraints of developing a large-scale MMO. Speakers will talk about some of the challenges they faced and various techniques that have been implemented to overcome those challenges for the MMORPG, Black Desert Online where many characters interact with each other in a massive open world. They will cover a number of topics including character customization, resource management, memory optimization, rendering techniques, etc., and explain why these methods were chosen for Black Desert Online.
