A statistical look at luck and skills in "traditional" sports vs esports. This session will discuss why it's so much harder to predict winners in esports than in traditional sports.

Takeaway

Attendees will learn why the design of an esports/sports league matters a great deal, as it introduces randomness as a factor of the results. They will also learn how the majority of esports competitions are constructed in a 'fairer' way as compared to 'traditional' sports, thus making it harder to predict winners in esports than in 'traditional' sports.
