Adding a session to your schedule does not guarantee you a seat.
Host, Producer, and Community Manager, Brandii (@yoobrandii) has over 10 years of experience managing live-in and digital communities in Higher Education and Video Games. She started her career in community advocacy working as a Crisis Consultant and Domestic Violence Advocate. She then transitioned into Residence Life after obtaining her Masters Degree. While growing her career, she started Brown Girl Gamer Code as a passion project in 2017 with her best friend Brittney after reflecting on the lack of representation of Black women in gaming. The two had bonded over playing The Sims at 11 years old and attributed their love for video games in fostering a 20+ year friendship!
Brandii has always been an avid gamer starting with the PS1 as her first console. From Spyro, to Tomb Raider and A Bugs Life, gaming has always been a way for her to express herself, get creative, and indulge in problem solving!
Currently, Brandii hosts live interviews for BGGC featuring Women and Femmes of Color in gaming and tech, while producing her own projects highlighting stories often left untold! In addition, she does program management and community management, with her prior work including companies such as Twitch and Glow Up Games! Brandii is currently a Community Manager at GameFam overseeing communities for Roblox games: Barbie DreamHouse Tycoon, Super NFL Tycoon, Bakugan Brawl Simulator, Cirque du Soleil Tycoon, Forever Pets, and Ultra Power Tycoon!
Her hope for Brown Girl Gamer Code is to continue to be a network and resource for members to learn and grow, sparking necessary change in the gaming industry!
