Yury obtained his Masters in Applied Mathematics at the National Research Nuclear University in Moscow. His greatest passion is R&D for the visualization of natural phenomena. His most notable achievements in the game industry includes graphics programming for Z.A.R., an FPS, the RTS Theatre of War, and the IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulator series at 1C:Maddox Games. He currently works as a Senior Graphics Programmer at Wargaming in St. Petersburg. In his role, he has programmed multiple aspects of 3D graphics for World of Warships for over four years. In addition to developing cutting-edge technologies, he is an active speaker on graphic technologies, has delivered many presentations at internal and external conferences such as Russian Game Developer's Conference (KRI), Wargaming Academy, West Game Development Forum, and Siggraph 2016, and wrote the "Using Vertex Texture Displacement for Realistic Water Rendering" chapter for GPU Gems 2.
