Tim NixonDirector of Online Experiencethatgamecompany

Prior to his move across the Pacific, Tim Nixon was one of New Zealand's most senior game developers. In his first five years at Staylight Studios, a company committed to "making games that mattered", he worked on serious game productions covering topics ranging from kitchen skills training to physics and hairdressing, before moving on to found Runaway Play, a New Zealand-based game development firm built on the premise of making games inspired by the natural world. In his eight years with Runaway Play, Tim produced award-winning free to play games like Flutter, Splash, and Flutter: Starlight in partnership with global brands such as National Geographic and the World Wildlife Fund. His experience with the mobile space (and microtransactions) serves him well in his current role as thatgamecompany's Director of Online experience, where he uses the insights in free-to-play game design and live operation learned from his time at Staylight and Runaway to make Sky an evolving online community.
