Mike Scanlon is a social scientist with a broad background in people-centered research and strong interest in ethnography, cognitive psychology, group dynamics, and measurement strategy. He's currently earning his Ph.D. in sociolinguistics from the University of Washington, focusing on language variation within an ethnically diverse public housing community in Seattle. At foundry10, Mike asks questions at the intersection of social and cognitive development, describes how people construct their own understanding of the world and their place in it, encourages creativity in the arts, and incorporates the student voice into educational research.
