The AI Roundtables provide a session for experts, a session for beginners, and one for everyone to discuss game AI. Experts can have dialogs on lecture topics from the AI Summit with their peers in one room. Other initial topics include: What is the latest in NPC AI? and How is AI avoiding the uncanny valley? The beginner session focuses on questions from beginners and clear, usable answers from a handful of experts. The session for everyone is a more free-form version the expert session, but everyone is welcome. The moderator will keep the topics flowing and make sure that everyone who wants to gets a chance to speak. Participants are encouraged to wait for the microphones so that everyone can hear them.
The Friday session is for everyone.
The goal of the AI Roundatables is for participants to learn something new about game AI that is at a level they can use. Professionals learn about state of the art AI from their peers and beginners get answers to their questions.
The audience varies by day: Experts on Wednesday, mostly beginners on Thursday, and everyone on Friday. An expert in this sense is an industry professional whose day job is writing game AI or the academic equivalent. Beginners are students, animators, producers and others who interact with AI programmers.
