Wukong AI, an artificial intelligence program, playing Honor of Kings, a popular MOBA game published by Tencent, exceeds the performance of top-professional player. Based on the superhuman AI ability, Wukong AI has been applied to many aspects of game, such as Wukong AI challenge, game balance testing, and more recently AI teaching,etc. For the AI teaching, Wukong AI can serve as the player's teacher and sparring partner, imparting professional-rank abilities to the player. However, to achieve this goal, there are many challenges need to be tackled, such as cooperation and communication between human and AI, human-like behavior and strategy, and reasonable collaboration. Wukong AI proposes an innovative human-AI collaboration framework based on existing technologies, which is divided into building a simulated human-AI environment, a strategy-level communication protocol, and modelling collaboration value. Although Wukong AI use Honor of Kings as a case study, these proposed techniques are also applicable to other MOBA games, as the playing mechanics across MOBA games are similar.
The attendee will be inspired by some ideas about the solution to other complex real-world problems using game AI and how to use game AI to assist game development such as game content and teaching level generation.
