Ambisonics are back with a fury, providing crisply-positioned spatial audio to the next generation of video games. With the onset of the next generation of consoles, hardware has finally caught up to software's capabilities, allowing for spatial audio to be utilized to an unprecedented extent. Ambisonics are the key to the next generation of spatial audio, and this talk will discuss why that is. It will cover what ambisonics actually are in addition to how they're important to your game's audio. Finally, it will discuss how using ambisonics can enhance your player's experience.
Attendees should come away with an understanding of what ambisonics are, why they matter, and how to effectively utilize them in their games. In addition, they should come away with specific knowledge about how to best utilize ambisonics in their game's mix.
