Getting company buy-in for fair play and Player Dynamics can be challenging. Fortunately, we can leverage many lessons and techniques from UX design, a field with a long history of "selling" itself. Weszt Hart from Riot Games will cover what fair play means for game companies; the history of UX and Player Dynamics at Riot; plus tools, models, and approaches that can help design get a seat at the table. The talk will include concrete examples from a number of UX and gaming companies.
Attendees will leave with language for discussing the business of fair play, a model for evaluating the maturity of Player Dynamics at their company, techniques and tactics for communicating value and getting buy-in, and a simple framework for developing and demonstrating Player Dynamics metrics.
The primary audience are people with an interest in improving fair play in games and a need to help their company invest and develop expertise in Player Dynamics. Basic understanding of Player Dynamics will be helpful, but not necessary.
