Community management is an essential part of the game development process. Among many things, it helps source community feedback and sentiment, encourages players to continue engaging with the game, and serves as a bridge between the developers and the players. However, compared to other roles in games, community management is still a relatively new field which is constantly evolving. This two-day roundtable aims to create a support network for folks in community-related roles and start constructive discussions about best practices, what it's like to work in the field, and the future of community management.
Those who attend this roundtable will walk out with a better understanding of community management best practices, how to advocate the importance of community management within their development or publishing teams, effective self-care strategies, and how the role is currently evolving and could likely change in the future.
This roundtable is primarily aimed at working community managers and those who aspire to enter the industry as one. However, those from all disciplines are welcome to attend in order to observe and learn.
