Games and sound go together like macaroni and cheese. Sound is a large part of what makes games fun. So, what are some of the hot button issues that game designers need to know about the process of creating game sound -- and what do audio folks need to know about game design and production? Good questions! This roundtable brings together composers, sound designers, game designers, animators, programmers, producers, and anyone else involved in the production process. Organizers open up the floor and discuss the latest and greatest trends in games, as well as the most common production roadblocks. Let's come together to develop a deeper understanding of process and pipeline.
This is a must-attend for anyone in the field interested in trying to navigate the waters and steer a path toward more immersive and creative game design. Attendees will gain a more complete understanding of the issues that audio designers and game designers face when working together in teams. Animators, programmers and designers will all gain a better understanding of how great sound can make their games more fun and increase playability and, in turn, audio designers will gain a better understanding of how audio and audio system development fits into the overall production workflow.
This is for anyone involved with the game-building process -- calling all music composers, game designers, sound designers, animators, audio producers, programmers and technical implementation specialists! It's a must for industry professionals, students, and teachers alike, all who are trying to navigate the waters and steer a path toward smoother production, and more satisfying working relationships in the field.
