Learn from the past, act in the present, create your own future: This was the driving force of the Colombian-created JRPG Cris Tales, a game with a heavy emphasis on innovating the turn-based combat embedded in the genre, while adding the same principles to the narrative and exploration of it.

This talk gives an inside look into a Colombian team that created a global experience with limited resources and high expectations, in a postmortem focused on the main elements that worked and the ones needed to be tweaked along the way—both with their design and their production strategy.

Takeaway

Attendees will get a profound look into the development of a 30-hour roleplaying game from a small team with worldwide expectations and no prior experience in releasing a game of such a large, multi-platform magnitude simultaneously, aiming at mixing an innovative mechanic in the well-established genre of the JRPGs.

Intended Audience

This is for CEOs, creative directors, experienced or intermediate producers, and game designers. This talk will give a team looking to create their best game and the do's and don't of a team that put everything they had into their game, to deliver to an international audience.
