This talk will take a deep dive into the lighting art direction of the Dead Space Remake. Join Guillaume Goudreault, a lead on Motive's lighting team, on the development journey from how the initial ideation was carried out to honor the original Dead Space, to the production challenges with the new lighting features of the game.

Guillaume will talk about the lighting and key pipeline elements the team developed in order to create a seamless USG Ishimura, including: the development of the light fixture, systematic lighting behavior working with the intensity director, color grading, and the integration of ACES color space in their pipeline.

Attendees will learn how the lighting team interpreted and adapted the original Dead Space for Gen 5 consoles—from breaking down the source material to gathering reference and creating reference boards for the artists.
