This roundtable provides a space for advocates and community organizers to share knowledge around performing diversity work in games.
This year's roundtable focuses on advocacy as individuals within studios, community organizations and online spaces. Over the course of two days, the discussions will focus around strategies, success and inclusion beyond women-in-games and safety, caring for burn out and coming back stronger.
By openly sharing experiences and knowledge, roundtable attendees will create a support network of other advocates and community organizers from around the world. Through discussion, they'll get a better understanding of the tools, risks, and needs to better drive change in the games industry while balancing healthier and happier lives as advocacy workers.
Participants will leave with knowledge and tools to more effectively perform advocacy work around diversity and inclusion, as individuals, while striving to maintain healthier lives in balance with this labor. Through discussion and sharing, participants will connect with other organizers and advocates, in turn, forming international support networks.
This roundtable invites anyone who advocates for diversity whether at the organizational level, over the internet, via critiques or involved with increasing diversity on advisory boards/held positions directly within studios. Those who want to start advocacy work around diversity and inclusion are equally welcome to attend.
