4D volumetric character capture represents a whole new approach to delivering realistic characters and emotions to audiences. This session will give those curious about volumetrics a chance to learn through case study examples of how they've been used in XR games and entertainment experiences. The focus will be the practical realities than that come with working in this new medium and the results of our R&D to break new ground in how it can be used. This will be a platform and vendor agnostic deep dive covering many specific examples of challenges faced and the approaches that can be taken to solve them.


Attendee's should leave with an understanding of the current state of the art with 4D volumetric characters and how it's been using across games and entertainment. Along with chase study examples of techniques used to overcome the challenges of this new medium to delivery premium quality experiences.

Intended Audience

This talk is intended for anyone in the industry interested in working with 4D volumetric characters as a medium. No prior knowledge will be required as the talk will start with a primer. Over the course of the session it will get increasingly technical but not down to code level.
