The Inclusion Framework, a design practice that many EA Studios have adopted over the past two years. The framework is focused on how to intentionally and authentically tell more representative and character-driven stories. It guides us to enable greater cultural representation in our games because representation is valued across all player bases. Addressing inclusion is not a "one size fits all" problem. Tulay McNally from DICE discusses the Inclusion Framework approach to building greater diversity and authentic representation inside our games. How game teams create employee-driven feedback models to ensure cultural sensitivity and accessibility. She will also share examples from games like FIFA, Need for Speed, The Sims and Battlefield and other EA titles to inspire you to join the movement of building Inclusive Player Experiences.

You will leave this session equipped with some ideas and real-world examples how we can portray characters with diverse background authentically and how we can avoid unconscious bias during the creative process.

Intended Audience

This talk is for every developer who is involved in content decisions and world creation which involve narratives that reflect the many facets of our player base and will be engaging, safe and fun to play.
