As gaming has rapidly grown over the last few years, cheating has become more widespread. If left unchecked this poses a serious threat to the long term future of gaming as it will put off new gamers, drive current players away, and drive up costs for game security. This session looks at how a new approach, based on data and a better understanding of gaming communities offers a practical solution that puts anti-cheat and community management teams on the front foot, protects the player experience and the brand reputation of the game, and supports financial security for developers and publishers.

Attendees will get an overview and understanding of the scale of cheating in gaming, the eco-system that supports it, and how it impacts gaming communities. They will learn that better understanding and data around the cheat communities can help game security teams take proactive action against hacks, community managers better help their players, and legal teams defend valuable IP and take down more cheat sellers.

Intended Audience

Our session will be of interest to anyone who cares about the long term future of fair and honest gaming, however new to the industry they are. It will be of particular interest to those working for publishers and developers in game security, community management, player support and legal teams.
