The games industry is a tough one. Developers pour years of their lives and eye-watering amounts of money into a project, just to see it wither on the vine in soft launch. What is remarkable, is that when we look back at where it all went wrong, it was usually a fundamental problem lurking in the core loop that we either didn't see, or didn't want to admit.

In this talk, Dave Cross the original Lead Designer of Wooga's hit June's Journey, will delve into core loops and how to use them to identify problems early. He will also take the audience through several case studies garnered from 15+ years in the game industry.

Takeaway

Attendees will learn how to use core loops to spot fundamental problems in their games before they start production.

Intended Audience

This is for anyone currently conceptualizing or developing a game, or intends to do so at some point in the future. No prerequisite knowledge is required.
