When you ask fellow gamemakers for networking tips, a lot of the same information is repeated far and wide in the industry: Do a game jam every weekend, attend every conference, go to every meetup and party. Networking is undeniably important to help you find jobs, meet fellow collaborators, and further your career. But when all the industry standards for networking require time, money, and being in the right place, how do you actually even do it? It can feel even more impossible when you're limited to remote options, as many of us have been in the last few years especially! Join award winning Head of Curriculum and game designer Francesca and award winning Program Instructor, game designer and producer Sherveen as they share knowledge gained from years running remote game boot camps and classrooms and learn their strategies for effective networking that are accessible for all.

Attendees will leave this talk with a new set of approaches for meaningful networking that are cost and time effective, and especially helpful in our increasingly remote work environment.

Intended Audience

This session is intended for anyone looking to improve their networking skills, especially those who feel that the common advice and approaches to networking are inaccessible to them. Those who want to be more confident of networking norms, especially when networking remotely, will also benefit.
