Topic: Design

Format: Roundtable

Vault Recording: TBD

Audience Level: All

Session: Maintaining Vision

Session Description:

Maintaining Vision is a roundtable session focused on communicating design intent to other members of your team. As designers, we are all selling our designs to others and the best methods for communicating that design can vary from stakeholder to stakeholder. Additionally, once a design is approved, that vision must be maintained throughout development. Other developers must clearly understand the goal of the design to ensure the final system meets the needs of the product and stakeholder. Join your fellow game designers to discuss techniques and strategies to foster better communication between design and the rest of the team.

Communication is one of the most important tools we have as designers, but the correct means of communication are often influenced by the situation and people involved. By sharing experiences, techniques, and strategies, session attendees will become better equipped to successfully communicate across a variety of situations.

Intended Audience

This roundtable is open game designers of all experience levels and those interested in a future career in game design.
