Writers' rooms have been a staple of TV production for more than half a century, but they're relatively new to game development. Veteran cross-media writer Antony Johnston (ATOMIC BLONDE, DEAD SPACE, RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE) has been in, and run, several such rooms. He explains how to recruit and run a successful writers' room, why it's more than just a writing team… and why you should use one if you don't already.
Attendees will learn how the writers' room model can be adapted and used to benefit game writing; how to recruit the staff for such a room; and how to run it in a way that delivers the most creativity combined with best results for developers
This talk is for writers, narrative designers, and producers with responsibility for narrative teams, of all experience levels. Experience writing for games is assumed, but not necessary to understand the content.
