Before Your Eyes began its life as a simple student project with an innovative idea, and ended up as a BAFTA award-winning multi-platform title. In between were seven long years of stop-and-start development, which challenged the team's faith that it could ever get done.
This talk will look at how writer Graham Parkes devised the games heartbreaking narrative over that time—and the lessons he needed to learn about life and the creative process in order to properly tell it.
Takeaway
Attendees will gain insight into how an award-winning game's narrative was conceived and developed over time, as well as an inside look at the process of making small experimental titles that expand the boundaries of the medium.
Intended Audience
This is for anyone who cares about how games tell stories, as well as anyone currently frustrated about how hard it is to make things.
