Location-Based VR is now one of the fastest growing markets within the VR Industry. Sandbox VR have been developing LBVR experiences for over three years and are constantly challenging their developers to innovate with each new experience. In this session. Sandbox VR will share insights gained from developing their latest LBVR Experiences, 'Unbound Fighting League' and 'Star Trek: Discovery Away Mission'.

Learn about the challenges of creating a player vs. player shared space combat sport, how Sandbox VR made it safe for players, how they adapted their hardware design to support the experience, and how they made Unbound intuitive enough that just about anyone can pick up the game and have a fun and unique experience. Finally, Sandbox will explore the challenges of creating a compelling narrative within the constraints of LBVR, and the design methodology the development team used to overcome these constraints and create a strong narrative experiences.


Attendees will gain insights and inspiration from Sandbox VR's examples of innovation in LBVR Design. They will also gain an understanding of the challenges of creating a shared-space player versus player combat game, and strategies for how to overcome them. Finally, attendees will also take away guidelines and strong examples which will help them to create compelling narrative LBVR experiences.
