In the midst of current controversy around working conditions for Quality Assurance professionals in our industry, Kari Toyama (Senior Producer at Private Division) aims to change the way we build and maintain QA teams. Kari will share how she built Private Division's publisher QA team from scratch, using her past experience in both QA and Production at multiple AAA/AAAA studios. Whether a QA team is small, large, in-house, or remote, they are a vital part of game development but not often treated as such. This talk will cover the pillars needed to advocate for and maintain a successful, passionate QA team.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of what it takes to build a highly functional and engaged QA team. They will also leave with vital information about how to maintain a great relationship with their current QA teams, whether they are embedded within the development team or in a remote location.

Intended Audience

This talk is for anyone who interacts with QA during game development. It will be especially helpful for anyone who manages a QA team, makes decisions about their company's QA team, or is looking to start a new studio.
