In this session, environment artist Greg Binetruy will share how Asobo Studio's Art Team managed to create the strong and critically acclaimed graphics for A Plague Tale: Requiem—often compared with the biggest AAA blockbusters—with only 15-20 artists for a development time of three years... which included a pandemic lockdown and two office relocations!
The talk will examine team hierarchy and organization, production processes and techniques, the organic approach of creating props and levels, and the benefits of using in-house game engine and development tools.
Takeaway
Attendees will learn tips and techniques to improve graphics and realism in video game production, as well as how to work quickly and efficiently with a very simple tools package... and adapt at fast pace if needed.
Intended Audience
This is for anyone interested in game development but may contain some technical details. It focuses mainly on heavy and realistic 3D visuals, but can easily be applied to other production methods.
