Known for its inverted-pyramid org structure and small, independent game teams, Supercell’s unique culture is often credited for enabling the phenomenal success of the company’s games. This talk lifts the curtain on that oft-discussed philosophy, as two members of the Brawl Stars team discuss what it actually means to hold all the decision-making power, including navigating internal pushback, shifting team roles and the challenges involved in staying true to Supercell’s culture of independence.

Attendees will walk away understanding the opportunity behind empowering their creative teams and trusting them to build the games they’ve imagined. By staying true to a culture of independence, even when it isn’t easy, rather than applying external processes and evaluations to make development decisions, team members will end up making the right decisions for the product.

Intended Audience

Any leader, aspiring leader, or developer that works in a team environment will benefit from this talk. Additionally, those that are interested in learning about the importance of company culture, and how it ends up affecting a studio’s output can also learn from this talk.
