Son M., Studio Director, Senior Game Writer, and Project Manager at Perfect Garbage Studios, will discuss the journey of developing your own indie studio—and the cost and personal growth required to "make it" to a certain point, as well as the benefit from taking a step back and separating your sense of self from its development.
It's easy to let a project become your whole life, it's harder to stomach the failures if you do. Trial and error is a part of developing as a game designer and learning to separate yourself from a public-facing entity made by your own hands is one of the first steps.
Attendees will learn some of the first steps to forming a studio and keeping your sanity (most of it anyway) along the way.
This is for those starting in games, particularly indie games, and are looking for guidance on where to start, and also how to draw boundaries with themselves in the industry.
