What do indie developers, Pewdiepie, Frida Kahlo, Beethoven, and Gordon Ramsay all have in common? Hot take: They're all content creators.
Many in the industry would argue that this term is harmful, that it reduces all works into a churn of hot steamy advertiser bait that can be consumed by the masses. In this talk, however, Aggro Crab's Nick Kaman and Paige Wilson will argue that there are clear benefits to promoting yourself the way a content creator would, if the ultimate goal is to get eyeballs on your game and move units. Attendees will see examples of how Aggro Crab uses techniques from the content creation world to grow an online presence on Twitter and TikTok and promote their games.
Whether you're a solo dev or have a hand in social media at a small studio, this talk can give you some ideas!
Attendees will gain an appreciation of the term "content creator" and why it might not deserve such a negative association. They will walk away with more knowledge of how to navigate the content-creation space as a game developer and hopefully the inspiration to give it a try.
This is for indie developers, small studio leads, and those in the fields of marketing, PR, and community management. Any levels of experience is fine!
