Wilmot's Warehouse is a strategy game about running a warehouse, in which truckloads of products arrive to fill up the warehouse, and the player must arrange them using any system they like, as long as they can remember where they put them! It is - as far as we know - unique - there aren't any other games with organising objects freely as the central mechanic. The game started life as a private joke between Richard Hogg and Ricky Haggett - the designers of Hohokum - and in this talk, Ricky will describe the development process, and touch on a number of realisations we made along the way.

Takeaway

This talk will describe a non-traditional process of making a game, demonstrating that sometimes just the act of drawing can be valuable game design, as well as other insights on game development from our perspective.

Intended Audience

This talk is aimed at independent developers who find it interesting and useful to gain insights into how other independent developers make games.
