Modern video games are constantly evolving post-release. New maps, game modes, and game balancing adjustments are rolled out, often on a weekly basis. This continuous iteration often requires data-driven decision making based on events and telemetry captured from game clients and servers. How can we ingest the potential deluge of data from game clients and servers? How can we process and operationalize this data in a timely manner?


After this session you'll have a greater understanding of Apache Kafka, how it can ingest large volumes of data in real-time, and how the Kafka Streams API can be used to process game telemetry events in real-time.

This is a technical session that developers and architects will enjoy. Basic knowledge of Apache Kafka and Event-Driven architecture is helpful, but not necessary.
