Representation and inclusion of queer communities is a integral part of diversifying the games industry. This open discussion roundtable will discuss the needs and desires of the queer community and give voice to your concerns, as well as determine the areas of education and consultancy that are most needed to support allies in providing the queer community with greater opportunities.

Takeaway

Queer attendees will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns, share their expertise, and contribute to the collective hopes of improved representation and inclusion, as well as brainstorm actionable steps to progress towards those hopes over the next twelve months. Non-queer attendees will have the opportunity to listen respectfully and learn from the experiences of queer attendees and determine how they can contribute to the ongoing representation and inclusion of the queer community in the games industry.

Intended Audience

This roundtable - presented by the IGDA LGBTQ+ special interest group in partnership with Queerly Represent Me - is aimed at queer folks working in or hoping to work in the games industry who wish to contribute to a discussion on the current state of the industry for the queer community, how we would like it to improve, and the actionable steps that could contribute to these improvements. The secondary audience of this roundtable are queer allies who wish to listen, learn, and respectfully contribute to a discussion around actions that we can all take to improve the inclusivity of the industry we work in.
