The presentation focuses on technical aspects as well as artistic choices made while designing a branching plot for an open-world AAA game. Attendees see how the video game medium requires a very specific way of thinking about dialogues and scenes.
Attendees will gain insight into the tools used to create branching dialogues for complex narratives with a believable world and strong characters. They will also learn the philosophy and principles behind them.
This talk is intended for narrative designers (writers, quest designers, cinematic designers) and anyone else interested in creating dialogues. The talk will be broadly accessible and will not require any prior knowledge of narrative tools.
