Children are not just mini versions of adult gamers. Kids' gaming preferences and abilities are affected by their developing cognitive and physical abilities. Session 2 will focus on the specific challenges of developing mobile games for kids, including touch screen usability, in-app purchases, marketing, game design (for individuals and inter-generational), and brand licensing. The business of making money when the target audience is children is always tricky and worthy of dedicated time.
This series of roundtables will focus on the issues developers encounter when making kid-friendly games. Attendees will be able to both share their knowledge as well as gain insight from other's experiences. The primary takeaway for everyone attending will be an enhanced understanding of the children's gaming market.
Attendees to this session should be versed in general game development or usability, and have an interest in or working knowledge of the children's gaming space.
