Generally speaking, gamers don’t ask for more ads … until they do. Rather than detract from it, ad placements integrated into the core game loop can actually better serve the user experience. In fact, users often complain when rewarded videos are removed. Aimee Meehan, VP Advertiser Relations at ironSource, looks at how different ad implementations affect player experience, engagement, and progression, and how they impact the likelihood of players making IAPs. The talk will present data on the impact of ad monetization, as well as cover best practices for leveraging ads for maximum benefit without compromising player enjoyment.

Takeaway

Attendees will gain a deep understanding of how ads impact in-game metrics like retention, engagement, ARPDAU, and ARPPU, based on deep data analysis, as well as how to strike the right balance between revenue and user experience to reach a game’s full revenue potential.

Intended Audience

Monetization managers for games across any genre, or any monetization strategy, from IAP to ad-based games, and any game developer looking to drive revenue from their game not only without harming player experience, but actually enhancing it.
