Day 1: Multiplayer Gameplay. There are a number of challenges getting game mechanics working over the internet. Something as simple as having characters move fluidly around your scene when their positions are being received at random times can be difficult. On Day 1, topics may include but are not limited to game state synchronization, server arbitration, latency compensation, server rollback, and data compression.
Attendees should feel they had an opportunity to discuss topics they either want help understanding, or are making strides in solving, in the online space, whether it be gameplay network programmers, or server infrastructure developers tooling to squeeze as much out of a server as possible.
All skill levels are welcome to attend. Whether you are just getting started sending packets over the net or you are managing thousands of servers. We all have something to learn from one another.
