Production Essentials Summit: The Producer's Role in Fostering Cultural Inclusion

Tina Merry  (Consultant & Trainer, Tina Merry Consulting)

Pass Type: All Access Pass, Summits Pass

Topic: Production & Team Leadership

Format: Lecture

Vault Recording: TBD

Audience Level: All

The games industry is increasing diverse and most teams are working hybrid and/or fully remote. How can Producers leverage the best from everyone on the team? How do they ensure all diverse voices are heard, and that different opinions and concerns are shared? How can Producers ensure everyone is aligned on the mission if we all have different perspectives on what it is, and how to get there? And how can Producers develop psychological safety in teams where everyone can thrive?

Cultural Intelligence, CQ, provides foundational skills needed to work and relate with those different from ourselves; Cultural Values profiles provide a descriptive tool to talk about culture differences in a non-threatening and inclusive manner.

We will explore these topics to help effectively navigate cultural diversity and to support a strategic approach for increased effectiveness and inclusion in all multicultural interactions

Takeaway

Attendees of this session will become force multipliers for cultural inclusion, with an increased personal awareness of what it requires to work effectively across diverse cultures plus how to leverage cultural differences to foster idea sharing, trust, and innovation.

Intended Audience

Producers, development and project managers, team leads or anyone working within a highly diverse team context will benefit from attending this highly practical session.
