How can marketing and discoverability go beyond being just about products, with more consideration towards community building, social good, and "caring" capitalism? There is a greater need than ever to critically analyze the ways in which marketing affects the greater community. The Marketing & Discoverability Roundtable aims to connect game marketing professionals and thought leaders so that the industry can benefit from a wealth of shared experiences and knowledge through an open, conversational format. The following questions are among those that will be addressed: What does marketing and discoverability that is dependent on social good and community-building look like? What are the positives and negatives of our marketing channels? How should studios support causes - and should they? How can we be intentional allies rather than opportunistic? What is our responsibility as marketers? And most of all, what are the pay-offs in terms of discoverability, viability, and community?
Roundtable participants will walk away with a broadened, critical perspective on marketing in games. They will leave with a newfound understanding of how to collaborate with their team and the changing nature of social responsibility in games and the market.
