Ray tracing is primed to replace rasterization due to its advantages in illuminating environments providing more realistic and immersive experiences in games. Open world ray traced games typically require a more technical approach to resource management, especially how to efficiently manage memory. This talk will primarily focus on the performance and memory scalability of ray tracing acceleration structures. Specifically, we mention acceleration structure building approaches and acceleration structure memory organization to get the best bang for your buck on RTX hardware.
