Red Dead Redemption 2’s cinematic experience is a tightly weaved combination narrative and gameplay that complements each other. The cinematic story support was a huge undertaking pushing the technical and quality boundaries beyond anything we had attempted before.

In this session, Dermot will provide an insight into how Rockstar’s Global team undertook this monumental task to deliver over 12 hours of cinematics from script to screen and the hurdles which we had to overcome.


Attendees will gain insight into how Rockstar Games approach their cinematic animation production and how that approach had to evolve from Grand Theft Auto V to Red Dead Redemption 2.

This session will be primarily delivered from an animation perspective but would be of interest to any developer wanting a deeper insight into the techniques used when developing cinematics on a large-scale production such as in Red Dead Redemption 2.
