This session will cover why Blizzard chose to prioritize social systems in 'Overwatch' (Endorsements and LFG), the social system design pillars, and the impact these systems had on the 'Overwatch' community.
Attendees will learn why Blizzard felt social systems in 'Overwatch' were important to work on, how they approached endorsements and LFG design, and the measurable impact they had on 'Overwatch'. Additionally, attendees could use some of Blizzard's "lessons learned" when designing similar social systems or looking for ways to mitigate disruptive behaviors in their games.
This talk is targeted toward systems designers, games researchers, and/or game developers interested in gaming social systems and/or combating disruptive player behaviors in their games.
