Attendees will learn the reality of how subscription services have proliferated in the last two years in addition to understanding how each of the two 1st party platforms are differing with their subscription service approach. There are clearly big winners in the subscription marketplace, however this talk will also give an outline of those that have struggled, supported with reasons why. Moreover, the current belief is that when a title enters a subscription service, global pricing and traditional physical retailer support drops; this session will explore the validity of this belief. Overall, do today's subscription services give everyone a better opportunity to be financially successful or do they shorten the period in which to turn a profit?

Takeaway

Attendees will learn how the growth of subscription services are changing the global video games industry. The speech will better equip them in future to make better subscription service timing decisions whilst being able to distinguish how other video games have maximised or minimised their subscription strategy.
