This session will present an overview of the pipeline used to make real-time physics destruction in Borderlands 3. As a new feature to the Borderlands franchise, many tools were created, modified and utilized both inside Houdini and Unreal Engine 4. This talk will go over the process from start to finish, and the lessons learned along the way.

Takeaway

Technical and visual effects artists will see gameplay examples of destruction and how they were created. The talk will cover some of the techniques used, as well as the tools and support necessary that made it all happen.
