These roundtable sessions focus on the collaborative sharing of best practices, technical trade-offs, and discussion of proven techniques in game tools software and services. Game development tools are constantly evolving, so come to share what works (and what doesn't) at your studio, and listen to a fresh take on how other studios keep their creative teams producing awesome games.

Wednesday is "Pipeline Day", and focuses on build systems, pipeline design/trade-offs, build optimization, asset optimization, and product mastering/patching.

Takeaway

A better understanding of the state-of-the-art, and trade-offs of various approaches to building game development tools, plug-ins, pipelines, and services. Advice in selection between various techniques, languages, and frameworks. Advice in handling increasingly complex teams, asset pipelines, and requirements.

Intended Audience

The main audience is programmers, however technical artists and technical producers will also find value in the higher level design topics featured each day. Experience with existing tools and product life-cycles is beneficial.
