Drew Kugler and JP Kellams met because JP had bad habits and, as an executive coach, Drew knew how to fix them. Through Drew's work as an leadership and team coach for Microsoft, Google, EA, and McKinsey, and his Constructive Candor system, JP began developing simple tools (PARC FERME) to help leaders on complex game teams organize how they think about what feedback to give and how they should give it.

"Tell Me What To Say" is about learning tools that empower teams through understanding their emotional engagement—to the project, to their teammates, and to themselves—and harnessing that emotion into better games. Attendees will be provided with simple, easy-to-use tools that prepare them to create an atmosphere of psychological safety and success through the application of active feedback.

Takeaway

Attendees will be given an outline of Constructive Candor, including how to prepare for tough conversations, how to execute those conversations, and how to drive continued engagement that creates team cultures. They will also be given easy-to-use tools to triangulate team status and identify effective feedback using the PARC FERME methods.

Intended Audience

This is for all in positions of team leadership within the game industry, particularly those looking to drive employee engagement via constructive feedback and a proactive, collaborative team environment.
