Malware classifications are relatively well known and terms like virus, trojan, and rootkit are familiar to game developers. Did you know that cheats for online games have classifications, too? Understanding cheat classification is key to identifying vulnerabilities in your future (or current!) multiplayer title. Much like an anti-virus cannot address social engineering attacks, cheat classifications enable us to understand which solutions adequately address a class of problems. Grab your cheat pokedex and join Michail Greshishchev for a 30-minute session on Denuvo's classification of multiplayer cheats.

Attendees will leave with a complete taxonomy of multiplayer cheats and an understanding of Denuvo’s cheat classification. Participants will also be provided with solutions to a few key classes of multiplayer cheats.

Intended Audience

This talk is intended for a technical audience interested in improving the multiplayer experience of their game, or a general audience interested in learning about the provocative world of multiplayer game cheats.
