The Dwarf Fortress launch on Steam in 2022 provides a unique case study of community management; the blending of the long-standing traditions of a fragmented yet highly passionate community and introducing the game to new audiences. Alexandra Orlando of Kitfox Games will give a peek behind the curtain of the Kitfox Games marketing strategy building off of the community management of creators Tarn and Zach Adams. She will showcase the approach to communication, influencer relations and transparency required to build trust and peace between the different factions. And also the risks and challenhes that come from being so transparent, and how to navigate them.
