There are many roles that go into bringing the music score for a game to life. Composition, arranging, orchestration, instrumental and vocal performance, recording, editing, mixing, music design, implementation, audio coding, and in-game mixing. All those elements make for a long and winding road for the music to get from conception to console speakers. This panel will recount this path as it applies to the music for Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The composer, an orchestrator, an instrumentalist, and music implementer will discuss their perspectives and describe their specific roles along the production path. The result will be a holistic overview of the game music pipeline, shining a light on the many aspects that must be carefully coordinated to create a successful game score.
